Lithium Batteries

Solutions to complex problems

THE BOAT BATTERY is the long-awaited solution to installing lithium power storage on modern canal boats, solving all the associated niggles and faults that come with other lithium systems that have frustrated us for too long.

Offering compatibility with engines that use two alternators (including a dedicated alternator for domestic use) and providing an accurate state of charge reading. We ensure reliability with a 5-year Warranty Service which doesn’t require the removal of the battery if a repair is needed.

For the past 10 years we have been researching, refining and developing the only solution you need for reliable, efficient and safe use of lithium storage combined with alternator charging in off-grid applications.

Two years ago we designed and built our specialist workshop to produce the perfect product for our amazing community.

User friendly interface

Once the unit is plugged into a communications centre device, such as the Victron Cerbo GX, you can see the state of charge, cell voltages, battery temperature and even the health of the battery.

All-In-One Plug & Play

A complete kit of components ready to go which previously, would’ve taken a lot of time, space and frustration to source & install.

A Lifetime of Power

A Grade EVE cells that are compressed for longer life cycles only need replacing every 6,000+ cycles or roughly 15 years!

Safety First

Our batteries use REC BMS to instantly stop all charging, including the alternator, to avert potential damage and hazards.

Any boat, Any capacity

THE BOAT BATTERY  is available in 2 capacity sizes, 7.5 kWh and 15 kWh.

The smaller 7.5 kWh version allows most boats, both narrow and wide, to have more than enough battery capacity. The 15kWh version is then available when significantly more capacity is needed.

We build our batteries in 12v, 24v and 48v.

Sizing your battery

Because we have remote access to over 100 off-grid electrical systems on the inland waterway, we know that each day the average narrowboat consumes around 2.5-3kWh, with larger wide beam crafts needing around 4-5kWh.

12v -

12v

Is the best if you have an existing inverter or alternator that you are matching up with. Please note that the largest inverter the 12v can run is a 3kVa.

24v -

24v

Would be our recommendation if you’re building a new boat, or a complete system from scratch. It will enable a much faster alternator charge and the chance to install a bigger 5kVa inverter.

48v -

48v

is suitable for very large installs that require an inverter larger than 8kVa – or the need to run electrical propulsion.
